Chicken with Sunflower seeds and cheesegratineè
Sometimes you simply have the urge to mix ingredients together which you've never mixed before. Your brain is then wired to 'I WANT to mix these' without knowing whether your taste buds agree with you there.
That's the way it was with my chicken-cheese-sunflowerseeds-gratinee. I had some leftover chicken from the Roasted Chicken I posted on Saturday; and I wanted to make a new recipe out of it. Therefore I put it in a pan with sesame oil to create a nutty flavor, added spices like garlic and paprika and mixed it all together with cheese. I stirred until the cheese got all creamy; then I added the prior roasted sunflower seeds.
Scraped it out of the pan, then created a sauce by adding a drop of water to the crusting in the pan; mixed it and poured it over the plate. That's the sea of liquid you can see around the meat – over it all I dropped some sunflower seeds.
At first it might be new to your taste buds, but after the second bite they are going to love it. Promise.
